Rethink Your Wellbeing — A Day Retreat
18th July 2026 | Newton Meadows, Shrewsbury | £110 | Places limited to 10
Most of us are so busy managing everything else that we never stop to ask how we actually feel, what we actually want, or what's quietly getting in the way. This retreat is a full day built around those questions, with the space, the tools and the guidance to start answering them properly.
Sharon Crossett and Clare Hodkinson have designed a day that works on every level, mind, body and spirit, because real change doesn't come from addressing just one of them. You'll leave with a clearer head, a calmer nervous system, and practical tools you can use the following day and every day after it.
What the day looks like
The day begins with a grounding session led by Clare, using breath count, drum and mantra to settle the nervous system and help you arrive fully before anything else starts. This isn't a warm-up exercise. Research in sound therapy consistently shows that rhythmic drumming shifts the brain into a relaxed, alert state within minutes, and starting from that place makes everything that follows more effective.
From there, Sharon takes you into the first coaching session, which is built around mindfulness and what it actually means to find stillness in a life that doesn't stop. This isn't about sitting cross-legged and clearing your mind. It's about learning to notice what's happening underneath the noise, and understanding why that matters more than most people realise.
After lunch, you'll set your Sankalpa, a heartfelt intention rooted in yogic tradition and backed by contemporary neuroscience, before moving into the afternoon session with Sharon on the Reticular Activating System. This is the part of the brain that decides what you notice and what passes you by, and learning to work with it rather than against it is one of the most practical things you can take from a day like this.
The day closes with a Yoga Nidra practice led by Clare, who is trained in the method developed and taught by Satyananda Yoga and the Bihar School of Yoga. This is a guided practice that brings you to the threshold between waking and sleeping, the state where the brain is most receptive to new learning and lasting change. It's the ideal way to end the day, giving everything you've covered time to settle in properly.
This day is for you if:
You've been running on empty for longer than you can remember, you know something needs to shift, but you're not sure where to start, or you want practical tools backed by real evidence rather than a day of feel-good activities that fade by Monday morning. The retreat is open to everyone.
