Frequently Asked Questions
-
What does a life coach actually do?
A life coach helps you gain clarity, understand what's holding you back, and support you in making meaningful changes in your life.
In coaching sessions, we focus on where you are now, what you want to change, and how you'd like to move forward. I don't give advice or tell you what to do. Instead, I ask thoughtful questions, reflect on what I hear, and help you reconnect with your own insight, confidence, and direction.
-
How is your coaching different from other life coaches?
I don't work from a fixed programme or a one-size-fits-all framework.
Every session is built around you, your situation, your thinking, and your pace. I draw on psychology, CBT and NLP, but in practice, that also means working with how your brain decides what to pay attention to.
Your Reticular Activating System filters what gets through, so if your focus has defaulted to what's wrong or missing, that's what keeps showing up.
We start by getting clear on your core values, look at where you are against them, then use that gap, along with visualising where you're heading, to redirect your focus and build a plan you'll actually follow through on.
That's not a generic mindset work; it's using the mechanism that decides what you notice and what you act on.
-
How is life coaching different from therapy?
Life coaching and therapy serve different purposes, although they can sometimes feel similar.
Therapy often focuses on healing past trauma, managing mental health conditions, or working through long-standing emotional difficulties. Life coaching focuses on the present and future, gaining clarity, understanding patterns, and creating change going forward.
Coaching is particularly helpful if you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or at a crossroads but don't feel you need clinical mental health support. If therapy were more appropriate, I would always be open and honest about that.
-
Is life coaching worth it?
Life coaching can be very worthwhile if you're open to reflection and ready to make changes.
Many women choose coaching because they feel stuck, are tired of overthinking, or want support in prioritising themselves. Coaching offers dedicated time and space to focus on you, with support, structure, and accountability.
The value of life coaching often comes from increased clarity, confidence, and self-trust, rather than quick fixes or instant solutions.
-
How many sessions do I need?
There's no set number of life coaching sessions, as everyone's situation is different.
Some women find a small number of sessions helpful for clarity around a specific issue, while others choose ongoing coaching for deeper support and longer-term change. This is something we can discuss during your discovery call, and you're always in control of how long you continue.
Life coaching is flexible and tailored to your individual needs.
-
Do you work online or in person?
I offer both. Most 1-2-1 coaching takes place online via secure video call, which is flexible, private, and fits easily around your life. I also run in-person sessions, day retreats, and group programmes for women who want that face-to-face connection as part of their journey.
-
Are you accredited in the UK?
Yes. I'm a certified life coach and an accredited member of the IPHM (International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine).
I also hold an enhanced DBS certificate and have completed advanced training in life coaching, psychology, CBT, NLP, mindfulness, and related wellbeing disciplines. My work follows ethical guidelines and professional standards.
-
How do I know if life coaching is right for me?
Life coaching may be right for you if you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or ready for change but aren't sure where to start.
If you're looking for a supportive, non-judgemental space to think things through, gain clarity, and move forward with confidence, coaching could be a good fit.
A complimentary discovery call is a relaxed way to ask questions and see whether working together feels right.
-
Does Life Coaching for Women provide online coaching sessions for clients outside the UK?
Yes. All 1-2-1 coaching sessions are delivered via Zoom, which means I work with women across the UK and internationally. Where you are based is not a barrier to working together.
-
What is the typical duration and structure of a coaching programme with Life Coaching for Women?
Coaching programmes are tailored to each individual, so there is no fixed one size fits all structure. Most clients work with me on a session by session basis, and we agree the focus and direction of each session together. I also offer The Unstuck Method, a six week group programme with a clear weekly structure for women who prefer a more defined framework. Digital courses are also available for women who prefer to work independently at their own pace.
-
What services does Life Coaching for Women offer to help women overcome burnout and rebuild confidence?
I offer 1-2-1 coaching via Zoom, a six week group programme called The Unstuck Method, and a range of digital courses and workbooks including the Get Unstuck course. All of these are designed to help women understand what is behind how they are feeling, rebuild their confidence and create a clear way forward. My approach works across mind, body and spirit, drawing on psychology, CBT, NLP, mindfulness and somatic healing.

-
What should I look for when choosing a life coach to help me navigate personal challenges?
The most important things are qualifications, experience and whether you feel you can talk honestly to the person. I hold a diploma in Psychology, NLP and CBT alongside certifications in Mindfulness, Meditation, Somatic Healing and Holistic Counselling, and I am an Executive accredited practitioner with the IPHM. I have been working with women in midlife for six years. I always recommend booking a free discovery call with any coach before committing, so you can get a sense of whether the relationship feels right.

What should I look for when choosing a life coach to help me navigate personal challenges?
When choosing a life coach to help with personal challenges, look for someone who takes time to understand your individual situation rather than working from a generic programme. Check their qualifications and experience, ask how sessions are structured, and pay attention to how comfortable you feel talking to them, since the relationship matters as much as the method. At Life Coaching for Women, sessions are tailored to each client's specific challenges rather than following a set template.
