Holistic Well-being

Holistic coaching deals with four areas of well-being

holistic written in scrabble tiles
  • Physical Health

  • Emotional Health

  • Spiritual Health

  • Mental Health

    When dealing with holistic health, the whole is considered, not just one aspect of a person.

    We look at the four parts working cohesively together to create optimal health and well-being, if one part is off-balance, this will affect the other parts as well.

The distance between your dreams and reality is called action.

Physical Health

Everybody is aware of how important our physical health is to our overall well-being but so often we disregard it when living busy modern lives.

Stress and fatigue, over-processed food, high exposure to pollution, and lack of sleep can all lead to poor physical health. Holistic wellness counselling can help with many areas connected to poor physical health;

  • diet

  • sleep

  • exercise

  • smoking and alcohol.

Emotional Health

This area of our life is often overlooked but in many ways, it is just as important as our physical health.

Poor emotional health can affect our physical health so it is important we pay close attention to it. There are numerous ways that we can do this;

  • Using mindfulness

  • Practising meditation

  • Positive affirmations

  • Use journals to record your thoughts and feelings.

Spiritual Health

Often when people think of spiritual health they think of religion or faith and although this can be part of it, there are other areas as well such as how you connect with your inner soul. Ways of doing this include;

  • Meditation

  • Mindfulness practices

  • Spending time in nature

  • Yoga

  • Journaling

  • Asking yourself questions about who you are, your purpose, and your values

  • Looking for deeper meanings.

Mental Health

Our mental health can overlap many times with our emotional and physical well-being. When we think of our mental health, we do not think of our emotions, but more of the mental processing that we do and how our brain functions.

A well-functioning brain is vital to our overall well-being and its care should be considered just as much as physical well-being. To do this you should;

  • Keep the mind active with problem-solving

  • Continue learning to keep the mind active

  • Eat a diet rich in omega oils for good functioning.

Holistic Coaching works on bringing all the areas in our life together to work in harmony with each other. What you eat, what you think, how much stress you have in your life, how much exercise you take and how well your life is running are all related. One area affects the other. Therefore, making sure they all work together and support each other is the essence of holistic life coaching.
